 The markets closed with significant gains today with realty being the best performer. The Sensex closed at 17587 up 156 points from its previous close, and the Nifty closed at 5318 up 48 points. The CNX Midcap index was up 1.2% and the BSE Small cap index gained 1.1%. The market breadth was positive with advances at 770 against declines of 491 on the NSE.
